El Maestro Internacional dominicano de ajedrez Ramón Mateo ofreció en el local del Colegio Dominicano de Periodistas (CDP) una simultánea de ajedrez contra 36 ajedrecistas, ganando 30 partidas empatando 4 y perdiendo 2.
Entre los presentes que asistieron a la actividad estaban el presidente del Colegio Dominicano de Ingenieros Arquitectos y Agrimensores (Codia) Adolfo Cedeño, los directivos del CDP Aníbal Lorenzo y Marcelino Nivar, el tesorero de la Federación Dominicana de Ajedrez Lewis Olivo, el Periodista Persio Maldonado y el Candidato a la presidencia del Colegio Dominicano de Abogados Rubén Puntier.
Aníbal De Los Santos y Juan Mejía fueron los únicos que pudieron ganarle a Mateo y Filiberto Cruz, José Gómez, Eddy Márquez y Abel Alegría lograron hacerle tablas, Durante las 2 horas que duró el evento.
Adolfo Cedeño anunció que la próxima simultánea de Mateo será el día 4 de agosto en la sede del Codia y para ese acto invitó a todos los amantes del juego ciencia.
